Do you do exterior surfaces also?                         Yes, absolutely.  Many of our products translate into to superior exterior finishes for homes, offices, pools, fountains, patios and driveways. Are your finishes durable and washable? Yes!   We make most of our finishes completely washable with a scuff eraser or a damp sponge.  Many of our plasters are scrubbable.  Many plasters take well to the application of additional sealers that are very effective against the grease and grime of a kitchen, bathroom, or hallway.

What hours do you work, will they conflict with my work schedule? We can tailor a schedule that's suits you best.  Many of our clients have special time and schedule requirements.  We are happy to discuss these with you during your consultation.

I want to redo the walls in my kitchen, but I can't spare the extra expense of replacing all my cabinets and trim.  Are there alternatives? Absolutely!  Resurfacing the finish on cabinets is usually less costly than replacing cabinets althogether.  We can help you redesign your cabinets with a fresh new look!  Our expert carpenters can also add or replace existing trim to put the finishing touches on your renovation.

How long will my commission take? That depends on the size of the project, the condition of the walls, and whether or not other contractors are involved.  An average powder room will take a minimum of three days.  One to prepare, one to paint, and one for final touch up and cleanup.  When you hire Cook Varkony Studios, you can expect our full time and attention to detail.

I have old wallpaper that I want to get rid of.  Do I need to remove it? This depends on the finish.  Some textures take very well to covering old peeling or discolored paper.  In certain damask stenciling, the old wallpaper can help the new finish achieve a look of authenticity.  Cook Varkony Studios can prepare this surface for painting or plastering, saving you time and money. Some of the sleeker looks, like venecciano and other metallics can only be perfected on a clean, smooth wall.  In this case, wallpaper removal should be done only by an expert.  At this time, we do not offer wallpaper removal.

I know I want something textured and "faux-y" but I don't know what I want!
